This building had started its life as a small cottage and had been extended over and over again, resulting in an impractical layout, overheating in summer and being bitterly cold in the winter.

The project entailed a completely new roof, a first floor timber frame extension and a completely new layout on both floors. The house now has a spacious kitchen a cosy snug, spacious living and dining rooms and a useful utility room. The hallway has been opened up to be inviting, with stairs leading up to a large landing which can be used as a study or just to sit in an armchair with a good book and a cup of tea.
