Barn Conversion
This barn conversion provides additional accommodation making best use of a previously disused and crumbling structure. A new inner skin was used to provide modern insulation levels and to support a new, slightly higher roof spanning over the space between the barn and an adjacent building.
Internally the former external wall of the barn was re-pointed, cleaned and then left un-plastered to expose the beautiful stone wall. The initial design concept was to keep all additional structures highly transparent, but more solid elements were then introduced to reduce overheating and excessive heat loss.
